What is the pathway of infidelity? How does one know if they are headed down this road? Bear with me for a moment…
I feel that one of the best blogs I’ve written was Let Sleeping Dragons Lie. The piece felt relevant because as a young man (once), I knew the power and drive of male sexuality. Furthermore, I was thinking of my son when I wrote this and all of the other young men in my life who must negotiate that gauntlet of life.
Of course, even as an older man (turning 50 this year), I am aware that our sexuality still possess the power to impair our vision and drive our lives right off the cliff into a fiery inferno; leaving charred remains of relational fidelity, family trust and spiritual legacy.
I always rejoice with, commend, and respect those who, after failure and struggle blossom testimonies of God’s deliverance and power because it speaks to the strength of hope –no matter how low an individual finds him or herself. Yet part of me is alarmed by the collateral damages that occur during the process.
What if, before our sexual engines drive us off that cliff, we could recognize those signals that warn us as to where we are heading?
I’d like to start a new blog series called “How do you know if…?”. The first topic will be “How do you know if you are on the pathway of infidelity?”.
I would like to take a slightly different approach and be enlightened by your experiences.
Please take a moment and complete this anonymous survey.
Now, why on earth should you even bother doing this? Well, no experience is wasted, and if God has helped (or is helping) you through something, shouldn’t you share what you have learnt with someone else? Wouldn’t God want you to do that?
Maybe someone right now is revving up the engine, and a warning light might be just what’s needed to check under the hood. Thank you for your help and may God continue to bless you in this New Year.
Sincerely,
Israel
