I am a big Marvel fan, and I know that others favour DC, but regardless of your orientation, who doesn’t like an amazing superhero? As a kid I always imagined that I was Spiderman and loved to watch the cartoon even though it had really bad animation. As an adult, the kid inside me loves the gadgets and the whole concept of Ironman -he has became my new favourite.
In real life, I would like to propose that authentic heroes can’t fly, neither do they possessed super abilities- actually, they wear moustaches! Yes, once again Movember has rolled around and it’s the time of year that we bring to light the issues highlighting men’s physical and mental health. Organizations such as the Movember Foundation and the Walnut Foundation have been committed to champion these important causes.
The fallout for keeping these issues in the dark are particularly troubling…
(the) rates of death from Prostate cancer are 2 – 9 times higher in the Caribbean than in the United States. The study also reported that prostate cancer accounted for 18% – 47% of cancer deaths.

By race, Caribbean and African men make up 46% in the number of deaths per 100 000 percent.

So what can we do, especially when early detection of this type of illness is the key to fixing this problem? We can raise awareness by talking about men’s health and donating to organizations who supports these causes. A great and fun way to get this by participating in the Genesis Man Superhero Mustache Challenge… What is that?
Superhero Mustache Contest Challenge
- I would love to invite men 18 years and older to grow a moustache over the month of November. (It really doesn’t matter how much hair you grow!)
- Take a before and after picture and submit them to our Superhero Mustache Contest Challenge. (See email address)
- I would love to invite any individual who has a man or a young man in their lives to engage in conversation and support those growing moustaches.
Superheroes not only grow moustaches, but they are also the women, daughters and children who encourage the men in their lives to pay attention to their health.
