Cinderella Man (2005) – YouTube Trailer

I recommend this movie. It takes places in the 1930’s and it’s about the real life boxer James J. Braddock and his inspirational come back story during a time period when everyone was looking for hope and a hero.

I like this movie because the main character (played by Russell Crowe) is an excellent depiction of a father. One of the scenes I think that is really powerful is when he is at his lowest point, his wife sends their kids to relatives because they can no longer pay the electric bill. Even after getting social assistance he is still short. What does he do? He goes to his “rich” former colleagues and begs money from them. It is humiliating, it is heart breaking, but he sacrifices to save his family.
