DIRECTOR’S INVITATION
Since our seven year absence from our National Men’s Conference, we are now planning our third event! During 2024 we came back with a roar, 2025 we built on that enthusiasm and improved, and now for 2026 we look forward to tremendous growth!
We are grateful and thankful for the rich history and leadership of our tenured Men’s Leader Harvey Palmer who left a solid construction foundation. The future is brighter than ever and the Men’s Ministry is thriving in Eastern Canada.
One difference between then and now is an official change to our name –The Men and Young Men Alliance. Our focus is to build strong connections with the next generation of men and boys who will soon follow. We aim to build stronger bonds among our Pastors, local churches (both French and English), communities, the men of Eastern Canada, communities, family and youth.
The National Men’s Ministry theme for 2026 is “Prelude to God’s Encounter” (Click here to see this short video -I’ve included some monologues from the show The Mandalorian – not kidding!) If you don’t know this already, Job is my guy! Before God shows up for Job’s encounter with him he forces him to a session of Self Reflection – “Who is this that darkens council with words without knowledge?” Then he moves towards instructions – “Gird up your loins like a man, (Preparation) and answer thou me!” (Response) What a fantastic and unexpected turn of events!
During our 2024 Retreat we came with the idea of “Connection” in the book of Ecclesiastes (Click here to learn more), then evolved in 2025 to “Alignment to God’s Divine Perspective” (the entire book of Job).
This year I am so pleased to share our theme which is “Experiencing the Power of God’s Encounter” So, we are connected and aligned, now what happens before, during and after our encounter with God? Enter Job again to help us out with this one!
Too long have the men and young men been on the back burner and it is time to take our place and leadership in the perfect plan of God.
Our Keynote speaker will once again be Bishop Dr. Roger Ball, and you will not be disappointed. He delivered it last year, and it’s still being served up until now. The Friday night guest speaker will be Pastor Joseph Clorméus from The Montreal North West church.
On behalf of myself and the National Men’s Ministry Team of Eastern Canada, I look forward to seeing you at this upcoming and dynamic event.

SPONSORSHIP
How Can You Help Our Young Men?

As a National Men’s Ministry, you will have noticed that we changed our name to the Men and Young Men’s Alliance. The first of our Guiding Focus statements is that we wish to “Ally with boys and young men“.
We have made a commitment that the Men’s Ministry will be about encouraging men to engage with young men in their sphere of influence. We are not doing the work of Youth Ministry, rather we aim to be good role models to boys and help young men as they continue on their journey to manhood through Rites of Passage, Passport 2 Purity, Ceremonies, and Mentorship. Furthermore, without young men how can we have a sustainable future?
Please help the young men in your church attend this event, and donate to our Retreat Sponsorship Fund.
Donations can be made at <conference@cogop.ca>
(Do not use the etransfer address above to make retreat payments, this is only for making donations. Retreat payment options can be found by clicking on the Registration Link.)
